This is a normal characteristic of pure manual or semi-manual production and is not a quality issue. Slight variations in the thickness of the skin formed on each batch of soy milk and the state when lifted result in these natural differences in color and length. This actually attests to the product's additive-free nature and traditional craftsmanship.
High-quality dried tofu skin has four key characteristics:
1 Color: A natural pale yellow with a slight sheen.
2. Appearance: Strips are relatively even in size and have hollow centers.
3. Smell: A rich, aromatic soybean scent without any sour, musty, or other off-odors.
4. Rehydration: After soaking in warm water, the water remains clear, and the tofu skin becomes elastic without turning mushy or disintegrating.
Our product fully meets all the above standards.
They are different products, primarily distinguished by thickness and shape:
Dried Tofu Skin: The skin that forms on the surface of soy milk is lifted and hung to dry naturally into branch-like strips. It has a firm, chewy texture.
Tofu Sheets / Thousand-Layer Tofu: A thin-sheet product formed by pressing.
Oily Tofu Skin: Typically refers to tofu skin that is undried, kept moist, or lightly fried.
Our product is the traditional branch-like dried tofu skin.
Yes, our dried tofu skin is made from selected high-quality non-GMO soybeans using traditional techniques. The ingredients are only soybeans and water. We do not add any preservatives, coloring agents, or gluten enhancers. It is a natural and healthy soybean product.
